Thanks to state-of-the-art projectors and lasers, a Basilica's enclosure shines from floor to ceiling. The AURA experience gives life and movement to a timeless place. The still image here shows the inside of the Notre-Dame Basilica, its many gold arches, stunning religious statues, a spiral staircase climbing the left side of the image dripping into gold gilded balconies. The arches flow from ornate, golden posts (three of which on each side are seen) interspersing the balconies to reach up and over the length and height of the massive ceiling that, in between those, is powdery blue with hundreds of tiny white speckles that might represent a night sky. But as the whole place is fitted out to become an immersive screen, its ALL subject to change. How fantastic is that? The massive, arched altar in the middle right of the image is extremely elaborate, gothic, with many arches within it as well spheres in this moment and lit up royally in gold and electric blue. Outside of the fabulousness of all this decor is the unusual amount of activity in both sides of the pews which can be seen from somewhere around the middle of the basilica from where I am sat, right up to the altar. The place is buzzing, almost as if for the opening night of a Hollywood movie. The only thing missing is popcorn. People are talking, laughing, drinking water, standing, sitting, some impatient, I remember, maybe even us, lol, waiting for the show to begin. Some are moving around in the aisle, casually dressed in the way tourists tend to during the day. Overall there truly is an electric energy and not just because of the AURA immersive sound and light experience about to take place and when it did was one of the most unique experiences I've ever had.

Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal
If you think this image looks a little unusual, maybe a little rowdy for a cathedral, there's good reason for it (see alt).
