This German release features a good restoration, a cool cover and a soundtrack CD. Highly recommended.

A close-up black and white photo of the puppet used to realize the second form of the alien in Xtro. Notice the alien puppet's deep torso cavity; clearly the 'beating heart' effect was some membrane stretched over the torso, a bit like the effects for Maryam D'Abo's transformation into a cocoon earlier in the film.
Another black and white shot of the 'final' alien puppet in Xtro, being worked on by Francis Coates (in the fair hair - not sure who the other man is in the photo. Again notice the deep, empty torso cavity thats been unpainted so far. Presumably covered with a membrane for the 'beating heart' effect.
A behind the scenes shot of the infamous impregnation sequence in Xtro, with the scuttling 'first' monster, which was Tim Dry in a suit. I feel this must have been done with the same suit (Coates has told me multiple times that they did not have the money to makeup closeup puppet heads or stunt/hero heads, like a big budget production) but empty and open, operated a bit like a puppet (with the big prop tentacle).
Gonna update my blog's article on Xtro in a sec, but look at what these behind-the-scenes images (that I'm sure that have never been seen before!) Francis Coates sent to me by email!
Three of them are of the 'skeletal' monster seen at the film's end, 1 is of the first monster.

Ha envejecido regulinchi (es muy chapucera), pero tiene una morbidez/turbiedad notable (muy a lo Cronenberg) y escenas que se te quedan grabadas (como la del padre alien chupando el cuello de su hijo, o los ataques de los ‘juguetes’ que domina el niño con su mente).
