We need more #Allotments and local councils don’t have the funding to increase them. Though not perfect, these private companies provide allotments to those who are desperate for them. The fact people are against them just because it spoils their view is incredibly disappointing.

A stream in a woody area of an allotment, an old tyre and other rubbish lie around. The stream is quite bare of vegetation on one side
The burn hidden in the allotments which is slowly being cleared of rubbish. I’m trying to work out what to do along the bank - it’s very bare and is crying out for some willow, but it’s also developing into a bit of a desire path. Ideas welcome!

Our neighbour had her annual late January party today. I'm not great at socialising but it was lovely to catch up with all the people in our lane and talk about how the kids are growing and reminisce about the timeline of the #allotments. The weather was even kind to us too! ☺️

One thing I never thought to do at the plot, which the article recommends, is tining the soil of veg or flower beds, not just lawns (I've never had a lawn, but I know aerating the soil is a Thing for grass). That's easy enough, and if it helps, go for it I'd say.
