spotted a juvenile isopod! unfortunately, my phone camera/scrap lens combo makes getting a leg count difficult, so the exact life stage is unclear, but this little lady is about 0.8mm long. a very little lady, indeed.

The mystery hexapods look like dark bluish-gray springtails, they seem to jump, and they stick to the drier parts of the substrate- they blend in too well to get a good picture. Got one more month to figure out if it's a problem before I get a frog!

I think it's safe to say my terrarium is fully colonized by springtails- they're finally consistently spending time on the surface and in the vault. They've also taken to hanging out in the moss, so I offered them some lion's mane powder as a treat 💜
