Well, this was a fail. I was trying to make something very different, goofed, and realised it looked a bit like a globular springtail. So I made that instead :)) Design still needs some work to fix the anatomy but liking this mistake 😀

The mystery hexapods look like dark bluish-gray springtails, they seem to jump, and they stick to the drier parts of the substrate- they blend in too well to get a good picture. Got one more month to figure out if it's a problem before I get a frog!

Despite their population booming in all 3 enclosures, I hadn't seen any until today- I recently added reishi powder and brine shrimp siftings to their food mix, so maybe that helped?

Terrarium update!
Lots of new pothos growth, dracaena's dropping its first row of leaves, snake plants look just okay. Clean-up crew appears established; spotted 'em a few times, and the tank still smells like healthy nature. Humidity and temp both stable.

On the bark of a dark, wet log, are several small, bright blobs of jelly fungus. Some are yellow, some are white with yellow bases. On one of the yellow blobs, at lower left, there's a brown globular springtail. Also scattered on the bark are bright green squamules and two pillars of a Cladonia lichen.
