A Cormorant has found the best place on the lake to catch sunlight and a warm breeze. Its wings are not waterproof. It is standing towards the sunlight and incoming breeze. It turns its head to the left and to the right while doing this.

Reserved, part of a Purple Martin Colony. A swallow that migrates from as far as Brazil to raise two sometimes three clutches. Seen underneath highways from San Antonio to North TX. On my most recent visit to the lake the lone egret standing on one leg napping during the first warm day of the new year.
