1990s picture of the “homeymoon cabin” where my grandparents starting farming after getting married in the 1940s. The barn and outbuildings were bulldozed in the 1970s. My uncle eventually bulldozed the house, an now there is no trace of the farm
1980s picture of a tractor hauling away the trailer house I called home until I was three years old. I still remember this event. “Hey, they are stealing our house!” The mailbox at the bottom of the hill marks the extreme southwestern limit of the massive Driftless Zone that covers much of Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota.
My dad circa 1970.
Me as a baby. I was a cute kid, and it was all downhill from here.
Spent a good part of yesterday writing. I’m frustrated with my slow progress, so even a 1,000 new words feels good.
