Not Boring Camera : comme Halide, mais en plus fun Minuteur, météo, calculette… Les applications de Not Boring Software ont l’air ennuyeuses, mais elles ne le sont pas. Du tout. Avec leurs graphismes déjantés, leurs effets visuels et sonores, leur typographie et même leurs vibrations, elles sont tout aussi amusantes que fonctionnelles. Le petit studio revient avec !Camera, une application que l’on peut décrire comme une version de Halide sous acide. Remarquez les ombres sous les boutons, qui sont générées en temps réel. Image iGeneration. Faut-il s’étonner que Not Boring ait rapidement gagné un Apple Design Award ? Son cofondateur Andy Allen est aussi celui de FiftyThree, la petite entreprise qui avait créé le formidable carnet numérique Paper sur les cendres du projet Courier. Avec son partenaire Mark Dawson, il a parié sur la typographie et les animations pour réinventer des applications aussi triviales qu’un minuteur et une calculette. (Not Boring) Camera, ou !Camera pour les intimes, poursuit dans la même lignée avec une interface colorée rappelant les appareils jetables. Avec ses gros boutons, ses pépiements, ses vibrations et son petit viseur rectangulaire, elle rappelle la version originale de Hipstamatic. Mais avec ses fichiers Super RAW court-circuitant le moteur de traitement d’Apple, ses filtres sous la forme de LUT et son mécanisme de contrôle du traitement HDR, elle rivalise aussi avec Halide ! Bref : ce n’est pas sérieux, mais c’est très sérieux. L’interface de mise au point manuelle, qui utilise une bague virtuelle, vaut le détour. L’application est gratuite, mais certains thèmes et filtres, ainsi qu’une poignée de réglages, nécessitent un abonnement. Not Boring propose deux formules, l’une à 17,99 € par an qui débloque seulement cette application et l’autre à 34,99 € qui comprend l’ensemble de son catalogue.
