Photo: A tourist in a blue shirt, seen from behind, walks down a wooden walkway in a subterranean space beneath Megiddo, Light cast from beneath the walkway casts a bright reddish yellow glow on the stone walls of the tunnel.
Megiddo was the site of the first known battle in human history (15 May 1479 BCE, Egypt versus the Kadesh Alliance (Davis, Paul K.; 100 Decisive Battles). The Egyptian victory effectively reestablished the empire's dominance over Palestine.
Some (perhaps most or even all) Christian Nationalists prophesy that Megiddo will also host the final battle in human history, date yet to be announced.
