A piece of Honeycomb Cake cut into a cube on a white plate. There is no honey in the recipe, but the process of making it results in vertical tubes. When you cut horizontally across the cake the eponymous honeycomb structure is revealed. Lights above the table are casting lace-like shadows.
Experienced Honeycomb Cake for the first time today and I was mesmerized by the structure! The recipe I think corresponds closest to what I had is Malaysian, but I had it at a Chinese restaurant so I'm not positive.
