Our parents took us for B&B holidays to Ryde back in the 60's. I remember us getting sprayed with oil fumes as the old SRN hovercraft came in to land on the beach. Visited in 2023 and good to see a service still running.
Even took the giant old SRN4 to Calais once; on a choppy day!

A long time ago (1977) I sent away to get #plans for making a #flying #saucer..... It was more like a #hovercraft. I don't know what it cost for the plans - probably one of those "send us $1 and we'll send you these fantastic plans!"
I was a bit #naive then. Never did build it.
