Glorious run in the sun today. Managed not to cross my own path 😅 #runsky #nonbinaryrunner

Ran an incredible race today, through gorgeous scenery & in support of the cross country teams of the Page, AZ, corner of the Navajo Nation. My first trail race, only about 25 mins slower than my road race PR last year. Had so much fun & the landscape was so magical!

Ran fast tonight so that I can run sweetly slow for Antelope Canyon X Half Marathon on Sunday ❤️‍🔥 maybe my penguin compression socks made me able to run faster splits! Or my hummingbird shirt. Or maybe it was the April wind 💨

TDoV finds me on a little run by myself in a quiet & gray bosque. So many things are threatened now, so I run, & talk to the willows, & give thanks for all the love that surrounds me, at least for another day.

I ran 100k in March! That was a fun challenge.

The only part of my run (yesterday after farming) I enjoyed was the part where I stopped my watch & climbed a tree 😅 Also the river was good, with a cormorant fishing in it, & my snakeskin shirt is a great vibe. But the running…bleh. So it goes sometimes!

Wind was powerful yesterday in ABQ, but calm enough today to do my Running on Native Lands 10k (turned 8 mi!) for Rising Hearts organization. Good bosque run by the river 😌

10k kind of morning, running out to see the river (before driving up to Santa Fe for many hours of a training I have to take once a year). Really grateful that the wind & dust storm that impacted ABQ the last few days has died down for now.

More time with that old rock in Juan Tabo canyon, on the first day of a probably record-breaking warm March. Complicated feelings about that. Very simple feelings/love for the stone and mountain.

Found a Snowcap in the bosque!!

Wouldn’t that be something 😅 Running in this awesome shirt from Rancho Naturalista (in Costa Rica) was great though. I’m not quite as speedy as a hummingbird, but it’s nice to embody the zippy guys for a bit!

Spending time with my love, the Precambrian rock of Rincon Ridge, and watching a snow storm develop over the Sandias ❤️‍🔥 A nice trail run to loosen up my back after a week of shoveling manure, & good sandy wash training for a canyon race I’m doing in April.

Haven’t trail run in the Sandias for several months - legs complained! But felt so good too, & got to visit my “mountain giant” friends.

Sore in my upper body after 2 days of real farm work (lots of shoveling & t-post pounding!) so went for a run to balance things. My back feels wildly better after running. 🤔 And the Rio Grande is frozen in spots here in central NM!

Warmed up enough for a very pleasant run at Los Poblanos Open Space this afternoon, during which I was honked at by Sandhill Cranes & chased by bluebirds & meadowlarks.

Cold for ABQ but still so sunny it hardly counts. Good long run this morning - not trying to go fast. As usual, distracted by birds. Grateful for the Rio Grande & the cottonwoods. Coming up on 1 year of running!

Last long run of 2024. Getting to know my new neighborhood trails and streets, and a different section of bosque & Rio Grande. Stopped at the co-op for a muffin & caffeine & a break to read the book I’m trying to finish before New Years!

I ran my first #backyardultra yesterday. Really interesting format, although it was the over 2800 metres of elevation in 100km that got me in the end 😅
