Just verified the current #wmlive version for arm64 boots just fine on a #PinebookPro, thanks to #towboot enabling UEFI booting. This also includes the graphical #Debian installer, so no more fiddling with the serial console.

I was thinking about this because I realised part of the reason I can still use my #PineBookPro for daily stuff is that 4GB is still a perfectly serviceable amount of RAM for normal work in 2025. Yeah, you'd like more, but you can make do with it just fine.

Hurg. Just upgraded my #PinebookPro to #PostmarketOS 24.12 and now I can't keep the wifi working for more than a few packets at a time. No firmware changes I can see. Maybe it's the change from iwd to wpa_supplicant? I hate broadcomm chipsets...

Enfin on a beau manquer de machines #ARM puissantes et abordables pour #Linux, je travaille depuis hier sur mon #PinebookPro (mon PC perso principal est indisponible), et le Pinebook Pro a beau être peu puissant et donc lent, ça reste quand même un portable d'usage général complètement utilisable.

Well, crap. The power adapter for the #pinebookpro got yanked. Need to replace the end to keep it going. At least it can charge off USB-C for the time being, but appears to do so more slowly

It is time to reinstall my #pinebookpro
What distro should I use? I currently use debian with an older kernel, but it would be nice to be more up to date.
I mostly use the terminal on it, so no fancy GUI needed (not fancy, but basic atleast)

Et le #PinebookPro est même pire de ce côté-là, quand un truc tire trop, le CPU freeze carrément et tu te retrouves juste avec un voyant qui clignote en rouge/vert et un système planté 🤬

Les SBC ARM, faut dire que question capacité d'alimentation des ports USB, ils sont souvent misérables. Mon #PinebookPro fait bien pitié de ce côté-là aussi. Y'a pas un disque sur 3 qu'il arrive à alimenter, parfois faut les mettre sur le port USB 2 pour que ça daigner marcher...
