#Palomares in #Spanien ist immer noch mit radioaktivem #Plutonium verseucht. Bisher wurden nur 3% dieses hochgefährlichen Stoffes entsorgt, der 1966 bei einem Absturz eines US-Bombers mit #Wasserstoffbomben freigesetzt wurde. Die Treibhäuser mit Tomaten sind gleich um die Ecke.

Heute vor 60 Jahren: Am 17. Januar 1966 kollidieren über #Palomares eine mit 4 Wasserstoffbomben bestückte B-52 und ein Tankflugzeug in der Luft. Die mit #Plutonium gefüllten Zünder von zwei der Bomben explodierten und setzten mehrere Kilo hoch radioaktives Plutonium-239 frei.
