I looked at what actors and opera singers do to perform texts in languages they might not necessarily speak. (The opera singers all say learn the languages.)

I ‘member my momma getting upset that I chose to learn Russian instead of German. She was so adamant that learning Russian was “useless” & I need to learn something “useful” for medicine (I was premed), like German…
