Firecrest among pine needles. Distinguished from the Goldcrest by its slightly less chonky shape, but also those white bars that flank the black around its crest.

This species, which is slightly larger than Goldcrest, but weighs about the same (~4.5g) is just as much of a pain to photograph, hahah. Didn't appear in the UK until the 1960s

A mostly green bird with a red cap is sat in an old tree, wary after being disturbed by a barking dog. It is a Green Woodpecker and had been eating ants in the garden during the morning.
It is always a treat to have a Green Woodpecker anting in the garden. A barking dog made the bird retreat temporarily up into a tree (straight into the sun for a photo, so a terrible #recordshot)
This small, furry, brown rodent, a Wood Mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) with a long tail dashed out of the border, across the gravel path and disappeared into the hedgerow. We took a quick photo as it scampered across the small, brown pathway stones.

My ffy Yellow Wag. happened to be a cracking Blue-headed Yellow Wagtail which dropped in for a pre roost feed along the waters edge west of Layer Breton Causeway, Abberton Reservoir with around 20 Pied Wagtail at 19:30. I managed to get a very poor #recordshot of the bird @essexbirdnews.bsky.social
