A fairly large pastel showing the banks of the River Cam with a couple of students reading. I have mostly used Arboreta acid-free heavy off-white sugar paper for pastels. I bought several large packs of it.

This watercolour drawing is of the Cam at Duxford, at Temple Farmhouse which is a site that dates back to the Knights Templar. I gave this one to the lady of the house as the property was being sold. I stil have some others done on different visits

Besides the Cormorant, there were the usual river waterbirds, all well habituated to human presence in the busy Byron's Pool Local Nature Reserve: Moorhens - some with tiny young, Mallard, Mute Swan.

Once upstream of houseboats at Horningsea, esp. those moored up the tributary which was revolting, with zero visibility, the visibility improved & the fish appeared, including all these fry, and there was less silt on the macrophytes like these Yellow waterlilies. #RiverCam 8/11
Great to see so many young Dace in the River Cam just upstream of Horningsea. They were quite curious of this large being lying in their water space. I always think young Dace look a bit cross though.
