This is not today's Yellow Ratsnake - but perhaps it's great or great-great grandparent. Pantherophis quadrivittatus Stocky bodied snake is wrapped around my hand and wrist. It is looking intently off screen to the right. The snake is primarily a yellowish green color, with darker stripes down the length of its body. The specimens in this area of NC are much darker and pronounced more toward green than the ones in Florida; which trend more "yellow".

Owning a #snake isn't like owning other pets. They dont get fed everyday, just every couple weeks depending on things like size of food. They need their tank cleaned, water changed out, hides, a heat pad or lamp & clean bedding. Very low maintenance.
