A photo of a mottled orange/brown spittlebug from above. The spittlebug's head is bluntly round and is mottled orange, brown, and white. The eyes are a pale gray mottled with black spots and blend in with the head. The thorax has more white and brown mottling and blends into the wings which have more orange. The body and wings sweep backwards to a point giving the insect an elongated tear-drop shape.
