Now we've gone 3 months without the #Xbox 360 BC Cloud save glitch being fixed, I can only see either they can't or have no interest in fixing it.
Anyway, I decided to actually play some #SplitSecond races on the 3 tracks available without a save. And it's a lot of fun just with the AI.

Waiting if Xbox will fix the Xbox 360 BC Cloud save glitch, I've listened a lot to the Split/Second OST, and how ethereal and impactful it is.
Marc Canham et al did amazing conveying an action TV show.
Makes me wonder how it didn't win awards.

Oh yeah, I forgot that for anyone who wants to suffer, Episode 2 of my Split/Second play-through is now up.
Episode 3 - the one I crash at the finish - probably next Saturday, with the next whenever the BC Xbox 360 games save glitch is fixed.

A 'moments before disaster' screen-grab from my Episode 3 recording of my Split/Second play-through where I'm leading the Elite Race heading to the final corner of the race, only to snap on drifting it, crashing me out in the outer barrier.
I've played Episode 3 of Split/Second now, and I don't think I'll ever win an Elite Race.
I didn't hit all the powerplays, but hit some shortcuts, and had a guaranteed win.
Then at the last fucking corner, drifting the car it snapped, crashing me out into the barrier.

Just been playing more Split/Second, again getting a 3rd in the Elite Race in Episode 2.
But I also played some online, and on #Xbox the Race lobby was full and filled up, 15 years on. Says something.
I finished at the back each of the 4 races (but didn't DNF) I did though.

The screenshot from my first-ever Split/Second gaming recording, where at the second attempt I did get the required third place to qualify for the next episode from the Episode 1: Rigged To Blow Elite Race, Construction Site.
I finally got Split/Second today and played Episode 1*, and I see why it's a cult classic.
There's some weird car physics, but atmosphere, sound and world is incredible.
Even with less polygons it looks amazing on my Series S.
How has no-one made a spiritual successor?

Bats are flying over the field catching insects. Big watercolor painting. It was a split second on that drive that inspired this painting. It was Highway driving, we passed the hilly farmers field where they had three wooden crosses out all year. A tractor trailer passed with three old- fashioned girls in their advertisement; field across the roadway had giant headed sunflowers that looked like alien heads. There was a clock out front of some sort of business off the roadway. The day was windy, cloudy, and we had just been discussing bats and how many insects they ate daily. People ask what inspires art, it can be anything… and not as deep as some descriptive narratives get. I paint what I see and feel- that is so often literally; this was just a split second observation and bit of conversation that had to be painted. No meaning behind it other than what I saw in that quick moment and the subject matter we were currently talking about.
