The subjects of #OnePlaceStudies range from an individual dwelling – #HouseHistory – or studies of institutions (such as schools), to whole villages, parishes or even towns, and anything in between – including #StreetStudies. A medieval #StreetStudy sounds amazing!

#sketchoftheday: More quick studies in the mini-sketchbook, drawn at coffee shops & bus stops. Full disclosure: I had to make up the baby carriage. They were moving too quick. #sketchbook #streetstudy

Wonderful! A great starting point for a #StreetStudy if anyone wants to take on a brilliant Brum-based #OnePlaceStudy...

Photo of a large, thatched dwelling with pale yellow painted walls and a chimney at each end of the roof, and a small, more modern extension on the left side. There are two doors to the building, which is now used as a café. The building is set in a road junction (in Godshill). Behind it are lots of trees, all in leaf, and above is a blue sky with a few white clouds.

Hope everyone has had a good week. We had a fun weekend - visited #Southsea Model Village! Residents of my #StreetStudy would have been familiar with it, as it was built in the 1950s. Several local businesses & artists are featured #GenHour

A road runs North-northwest - South-southwest through the middle of the map. To the East of the road, the land is mostly undeveloped apart from Barony Brick and Pipe Works. The the West of the road are several clusters of buildings, mainly terraces but also some semi-detached houses, with gardens and open fields.

Plenty of foxes in my #StreetStudy! We enjoy watching the cubs grow year after year, but since people started feeding them they’ve lost their fear of people & have even been known to go in our houses if the door is left open! #OnePlaceWednesday

I gave it up before I registered Sudbourne - there’s no way I could cope with two villages with their combined population sizes in addition to a #StreetStudy & an inebriate home!

A chance comment in an unrelated email diverted me from my plans & sent me back to my research into the builder who built my #StreetStudy. He was living a few houses away in an adjoining road when my #StreetStudy was built. He left each child 2/3 houses in his will! #OnePlaceWednesday

There’s a lady locally who paints houses & I’m going to ask her to paint my #StreetStudy when there were still trees in the street & before people painted their stone windowsills & removed their front walls to make driveways. If you know what it looked like, that’s an option #OnePlaceWednesday

Agreed - X & Z are the most difficult letters! I’ve managed to find a Z for my #StreetStudy (& it’s an interesting story) but I’m planning to do the #AtoZchallenge on my #Sudbourne #OnePlaceStudy so it’s no help to me 🤣 #GenHour

Earlier this week, a friend & I visited @theddaystory.bsky.social in #Southsea. Every time I visit I notice something new! I’ve bought a year’s pass, so I can go as often as I like! It helps me learn about my grandfather’s experience & that of the people who lived in my #StreetStudy
