Good to see my two largest pumpkin plants in full bloom this morning. Hopefully, we will have some nice pumpkins in a few weeks.

Butternut pumpkin/squash seeds have sprouted. Looking forward to seeing these plants grow and become productive.

Cover and 3 inside pages of a 1907 book, 'How to tell the birds from the flowers'. The cover compares crows and crocus. P.1 compares clover and plovers. P.2 compares the quail and kale. P.3 compares parrots and carrots. Each page has simple line drawings of the two things being compared making them look as much alike as possible. The 3 inside pages contain a little poem about the bird and plant being compared.
Shared from a FB post because it's a little bit silly and charming.

This day I harvested five lovely tasty onions I grew from an onion that had sprouted months previously. Planted in mid winter, harvested today, and in my shin beef casserole five minutes later. It doesn't get any fresher than that. This won't work with plants grown from a top-only though.

Just in the garden and essentially all my veges are European. Does anyone grow Australian indigenous produce gardens? Can you live off them?
Curious.
