I noticed that VFIO support was added to #86Box a few weeks ago, although it looks like it's only preliminary at this point. If that gets fleshed out it will be a HUGE step towards making 86Box a "grown-up" VM host, rather than just a game emulator.

In 86Box... A VIA Apollo Pro 133 Motherboard with a 66mHz Pentium II Overdrive and 256MB of RAM. Also with Voodoo3 video and a Sound Blaster AWE64.
Verdict: Stick with DOSBox if you wanna do games.
With 86Box, this i5-7200 laptop struggles _hard_ to emulate an old 66Mhz Pentium II CPU at 100% speed. (Granted, this may be because I'm trying to plop a virtual Voodoo3 into it, too).

古いPCをエミュレートする86Boxがv5.0になって大進化してた。PC-98が入るのはわかるけど、リアルタイムに生きていた人でも知ってる人は少ないIBM AXやPS/55も追加ってマニアックすぎる。あとGUIフロントエンドも付いたそうです #86Box

It still feels funny using #86Box for 'grown-up' VM tasks like server virtualization, but sometimes it really is the right tool for the job.
