Ventriloquist was a character I had no idea what I would do with. I was just going to give him the usual three piece suit and that would be it, but remember when I said that I was going to make Riddler based on Igor before I ended up with the final design? Well, that Igor idea went into the Ventriloquist instead, which I think actually works better than it would have for Riddler. I had an inside joke with some friends that this was some sort of evil looking Geppetto, and the puppet really doesn't help with that comparison. Scarface himself is your basic ventriloquist dummy with the same color scheme as Arnold and even has a wooden brush extension from Krita to make him look more like a handmade puppet.
Tally Man is a huge stretch from the comics that even I don't know everything about, but he's basically the debt collector for anyone who owes the mob some money, and if you don't pay up, then you pay for your life... I inspired this Tally Man to be an urban myth, something that the crime bosses (designer) summoned themselves to act as their debt collector and to keep the mysteries of Gotham City rolling, also based on his design from the comics, I inspired his look off a court jester, specifically Jester from Devil May Cry 3! Another bit of inspiration was 'The Clown' or the Violator from the Spawn comics, maybe he'll have a similar demonic form but for now, I'm content with the Tally Man being a weird looking borderline clown dude!
Calendar Man went through some changes as well; I was originally going to make the obvious Hannibal Lecter reference and make him the usual Calendar Man from Arkham City, maybe with a muzzle to drive the point... But then I stumbled upon his concept art for Arkham Asylum where he had the colors of his classic costume with the inner portion being of calendar pages... So I went with that approach. Then, Persona 4 Revival got revealed and I got in that Adachi mood, so I figured I would inspire a bit of his design off of Adachi as well, pose included! I decided to give him a faceless calendar mask since my original design from 2021 originally had a whole calendar for a face, but I thought that was lame for nowadays standards, so I went with this mask instead!
Cluemaster was actually the last supervillain I drew for the Timeless Batman roster! I originally wasn't going to include him, but then I realized if Stephanie is in the AU, with her and Tim going to the same private school, then where is Cluemaster? Being the headmaster of the private school (still pending on a name), I was originally going to give Cluemaster a very stereotypical three piece suit and tie with the mask, but I thought that was lame... So, I went digging for any more horror tropes and even almost based his design off the Reeves Riddler! But eventually I ran into the Grabber from one of my favorite horror movies: The Black Phone, so you can definitely see the design inspirations after one glimpse of the titular villain. I then gave him this raggedy coat inspired by the 2004 version of Cluemaster since I do have immense nostalgia for that version, and I recently rewatched that episode of The Batman '04, so the time was right for this design of the Cluemaster! Lore will come out later, but just know this: this guy is twisted!
