Several pieces of fabric and paper pattern pieces for the Charm Patterns Artist Apron Dress are spread across a cardboard cutting mat. The bodice and skirt pieces are cut out of a gray fabric with big black dots, which are interspersed with little black cat heads. Half of the cat heads are wearing sparkly silver cat’s eye glasses. The bib pocket, carpenter pocket, and straps are all cut out of a creamy silver sparkly fabric, which coordinates nicely with the cats’ glasses. On the bib pocket and each panel of the carpenter pocket are cut-out diamonds of the polka dot cat fabric, each featuring 9 big dots and a cat with glasses in the center.
I’m about halfway through my second #ArtistApronDress. The store didn’t have enough cat fabric for me to do a full dress, so I’m using sparkly fabric for the pockets and straps.

OK! To get the size 8H bodice to fit with a size 14 skirt, I shrunk the waist darts and used the size 14 back piece. The one thing I did wrong was to shrink the entire waist dart. It needed to be less wide, but the same height.

A piece of black cotton fabric is sewn to a set of stretcher bars. An iron-on interfacing strip has “Police Public Call Box” drawn on it as a template, and white thread has been embroidered over the first 3.5 letters. The needle is being held by a magnetic needle minder with a hedgehog looking lovingly at a pincushion.
Finally got the fabric stretched for the accent for the bib pocket on my #CharmPattern #ArtistApronDress, and have started the embroidery.

LL: Press, press, and PRESS those seams. Once hung for 24 hours- STEAM!
When you have a low melting point gold foil, use a cotton cover between it and the iron.
Lots of pins for stretch velvet, while zigzag stitch is your best friend.
