At dawn the dunes lit up in waves, and three young ladies enjoyed nature's show with a box of cereal.

the first 3 are from the cadiz dunes in the mojave desert. they are now in wilderness and it is a WHOLE lot more difficult to access the dunes for exploration. the 4th image is an area in newberry springs destroyed by sand and wind and man's hubris.

This is a landscape color photograph of Sand Dunes in the golden light of morning and a crystal clear blue sky. On the left the ridge of the sand dune starts about little more than halfway up the frame, gently slops down and then pitches further down to 45 degrees before it meets another dune that rises up gently and then back down gently until it meets the frame on the right. At the bottom of the frame on the left, another ridge moves up and to the right before passing into shadow. From left to right, the sand is a golden hue from the early morning sun and then gets darker and moves into shadow, with the exception of the ridge low in the frame that casts its shadow to the left and is lit up on the right before going back into shadow. There are a set of footprints that go from the shadow of the bottom ridge to the crease between the two ridges at the top. Otherwise the sand is unmolested. All of this sits under a completely clear blue sky that deepens towards the top of the frame.
