Question for any authors out there: im close to finishing my first draft but im unsure what to do after that. I have an idea for a different beginning for the book but tgat would require essentially rewriting the whole thing from the ground up. Is that unusual?

At last my textbook proposal writing is coming together! I've got 1,500 words so far (with images and references) on Memes. It's my intention to keep the chapters fairly short - it's for an introductory book on the media. I'm keeping it simple and it's not perfect.

Going to be honest, I haven't done much "writing" lately but I have made huge progress in getting my world building notes cleaned up & organized. Now they make sense & I feel like I can get back to writing my WIP & not second guess myself on some of the details.

I started a new draft today. Finished the outline and even got the opening chapter of this novella down. First drafts are always the hardest. I know I'm getting this down in the roughest possible way, but it has to actually be written if I want to improve it.
