Other highest wind gusts included 58 mph at the Bay of Grand Marais, and 53 mph at Range Regional Airport.

Waves will range from 4 to 8 feet from Chequamegon Bay east towards the Upper Peninsula, 7 to 10 feet along the Cook County shoreline, and 8 to 13 feet for the rest of the North Shore, the Twin Ports, and Bayfield Peninsula regions.

A Fire Weather Watch as been issued for northern Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, northern Lake, and northern and central St. Louis counties for Tuesday, May 20, 2025.  Strong east winds with gusts over 30 mph, plus relative humidity levels as low as 15-percent in spots, will likely lead to very high or extreme fire danger levels, and possibly a Red Flag Warning.  This watch does cover the area where three major wildfires have been burning over the past week.
