A lot of people especially #HCWs NEED to understand that “I’ve researched my symptoms” ISN’T “consulting dr ggle, especially for the chronically ill/undiagnosed people. There’s studies, research papers, articles, & what HOSPITALS post abt many conditions (& also listening to other disabled people).
Everyone, please be mindful of some of the stuff you say on here. I understand that emotions are hot regarding the government funding, and a LOT of people hate Democratic members and leaders on here.
But y'all, another year of subsidies is not nothing. Your #HCWs are TIRED, and have lost so much. 🩺

Daughter's housemate just got out of hospital. Brought home #Covid to at least 1 other housemate. Fingers crossed for the others. I am so pissed at #HCWs who don't #Mask.

If you are working in a care home or hospital in the UK please open windows. Wear an ffp2 masks, new covid strain incoming that will be dangerous especially to elderly and young children. Also vulnerable and everyone from long covid.

We often encounter #hostile #HCWs who are #ableist, under-educated about #autoimmunity & #disabilities, and display #prejudices #biases towards #patients based on #MentalHealth, perceived #class #income, #age, #weight, etc. Their go-to tactic is to claim #NonCompliance & wrongly #weaponize #CPS.
In our @3wishesprogram.bsky.social, acts of kindness for dying patients are completed by #HCWs. At one of the newer hospitals I've started it at, I learned that 2 male charge nurses have told their crew that this was a "women's thing", which means dying patients with male nurses don't get wishes.
"Flu vaccination take-up among healthcare workers is just 30% this winter, according to figures from the Health Service Executive.
The figure is far below the HSE's target rate of 75% for staff in the sector."

From honouring #HCWs with the clanging of pots and pans to rewarding them with chronic illness and all the uncertainty and life changes that come with that.

I don’t understand the total disregard for patients’ health, and their actual lives, in a healthcare setting. It’s such a disconnect to their purpose.
