A Ruby-Throated Hummingbird perches apparently isolated by the nearly colourless background beyond (which is in reality just “blown out” sky as the photo was taken in the evening dusk, underexposed and needed a good deal of boosting in post-processing). We can’t really discern if she’s a he or she but she’s looking exceptionally green, and I felt that this perhaps overly “graphic” image had some otherworldly merit.
