Subtle breezes ruffle soft curtains, the sweet smell of sundrenched, fresh-rained pavement carried lightly on their hidden wings. Birdsong follows; distant at first, but then closer as those singers land just outside the window, hidden in the leaves. For a moment, the vast sprawl of the world shrinks down to this simple Now: this scent, this sound, this feeling. This tiny bubble floats in the vast sea of Everything Else, mine alone. With this flash of warmth and solitude preserved in amber, here’s some more (US) morning mellow.
