It's been a lovely, sunny spring-like Saturday (14 March) in #Darwen #Lancashire. Today's maximum temperature was 13.5°C. Rain returns from early on Sunday through to late on Monday but expect MUCH better from Tuesday onwards, especially Wednesday & Thursday.
So much blossom to admire, comma and small tortoiseshell butterflies despite the cold start, a huge scarlet elf cup, lime green fresh leaves, narcissi, a ladybird, beautiful blue skies, camelia, coltsfoot, and frilly cherry blossom

Photograph taken looking out at the view from Rivington Pike, up on the top of the Pennines. Monochrome filter used for drama. Great day out up there! There's a protective fence towards the top of the ridge and into a horizontal beam are carved the words 'Do more than just exist' then on the middle beam 'I love you'. Powerful messages. Yes, I struggled to get the horizon and the beams perfectly horizontal! Monochrome image shows large clouds in the sky above a landscape disappearing to the horizon. Across the image stretch three fence beams, the top two have an inspirational quote carved in. Between the top two beams you can see the upright posts of lower fenced areas and rough landscape on the steep descent down from the Pike.

Photograph taken from a swing bridge over a canal in the depths of Lancashire. Blue sky with a few wispy, white clouds. Canal is dark blue heading into the distance with golden grasses on either bank. One large wintery tree reflected into the water. White but rusting horizontal guard rails on the swing bridge protect from falling. Was out on a lovely wander with my bestie this day. A cold February day but such a wonderfully sunny day. She tolerated my photo taking incredibly well.

It's been a cold, although less blustery, day for mid-March in #Darwen #Lancashire. A few snowflakes fluttered around this morning, the maximum temperature was only 6.4°C, and it's presently (at 7pm) hailing. Temperatures will rise steadily through next week.
