一般來說，TRPG跑團是一項僅屬於桌面上那4~6位玩家和GM的獨特體驗，但在「多桌聯動」的玩法下，你將可以和更多的人同時享受遊戲⚔️🛡️🏹
在這個玩法下，所有活動桌都將以同一個劇本進行遊戲，然後通過完成劇本目標、回報進度📜，使整體進度持續向前推進。
如同MMORPG推世界王或大型副本那樣，在劇本中也會出現讓不同桌面的玩家可以互相合作打配合的橋段——有可能是協力進行難度很高的檢定，也可能是讓法術、技能或戰鬥能力的效果傳遞。

探索者協會社群遊戲（Pathfinder Society Organized Play），一般簡稱為PFS，是《尋路者》的出版商Paizo專為PF設計的社群玩法。
在社群遊戲中，玩家只要遵守一套共同的戰役設定（Campaign Setting，通常包含一套世界觀跟規則選項），就可以帶著自己的角色到處去和其他同樣有玩社群玩法的人組團，並且去體驗其他GM會怎麼帶。

《尋路者一版》（Pathfinder 1E）最初是通過OGL授權，由《龍與地下城三重製版》改良而來，在遊戲體感上也繼承了DnD3E和3R龐大而豐富的規則、多樣的資源選項、你真的數值體系等特性。

在AR 4710年（相當於現實世界2010年），探索者協會內部的衝突和腐敗，已經讓許多探索者（Pathfinders）也逐漸感到不滿，甚至於出走。
很快的，一陣窸窣的耳語開始在探索者之間流傳——在這些謠言中，一小群不滿協會制度和現狀的探索者們暗中組成一個與國家勢力實力相當、成員從外勤探員到冒險隊長層級都有的強大結社。

探索者協會（Pathfinder Society）是在AR 4307年，由傳奇的「創始九人」建立——而他們的繼任者後來發展成為了協會領袖「十人會」（The Decemvirate）。
協會的組織龐大而鬆散，主要由各個冒險分部（Lodge）的冒險隊長（Venture Captain）管理一個區域的冒險工作，並將成果回報給探索者本部（Grand Lodge）。
