Fully shielded, because it is mounted low and has a shield over the top, but still lights up the sidewalk so neighbors can see, an almost perfect light. If it had lower Kelvin it would be perfect.
My son was a teenager when he started this account in school. I didn’t want it to die on Twitter, so I kept it going a little, now bringing it over. There are other voices that say it better. At the time those voices were very few. So glad to see this. #ProtectNight
I was lucky enough to visit a friend in the San Juans and this is what my standard iPhone on standard settings captured. Just a ferry ride and 1.5 hour drive from Seattle.
I hope you got to really see the #NightSky at least once this year. Let’s protect this. #ProtectNight
Normally this light would not be ideal, but this fixture works as a #DarkSky light because it is fully-shielded so no light shines or trespasses where it isn’t needed or wanted.
Is this case the porch roof works to shield the up-lighting from spilling into the sky. #ProtectNight

This shield is an example of recognizing the seriousness of artificial light at night. We should shield it in all directions so it only spills where it is needed: @SeaPubSchools (Also, it is mostly off, except for school events in the evening.). #ProtectNight #EndLightPollution
If I haven’t followed you back, reach out through DM, or tag me on #LightPollution My favorite hashtag is #ProtectNight because this is the opposite of what #LightPollution does.

My phone camera freaks out when I try to take photos of light above 4000K. I know this streetlight to the left is 4000K so this light to the right must be at least 5000K. See the blue wiggly lines from both lights? Those are #bluelight my camera can’t handle.

The good new is you can celebrate #Halloween and #ProtectNight This Fire-Light is a low and #DarkSky safe 1500K and it’s in a full-shield fixture. Still we’ll turn it off by 11 p.m.
Why spill light and create this harmful pollution that ends up in sensitive chinook habitat ? You can light to #ProtectNight - shield all light - force it to only spill down, on walkways, or sidewalks. Do not let light-pollution travel for miles unchecked.
I was outraged at the amount of professional grade fireworks going off from 8 pm till 2 pm in my neighborhood last night. We had to hose down sparks. The juvenile robins are now gone, house finch nest with eggs seems abandoned. #ProtectNight every night. #Fireworkssuck
Imagine what this is doing to all forms of life on earth that evolved with set nightly darkness? Research shows how it is harming birds, insects, bats, fish, frogs, turtles, etc. Yet anyone/any company is free to add #ALAN into sensitive ecosystems unchecked. #ProtectNight
Thank you @WREGreenwood for using full-shield lighting. (No horizontal spill )#ProtectNight
The history of lighting up #CherryBlossomDC -we’re glad they are now dark. #ProtectNight www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/local/light-em-u...

We actually prefer you mount all light low, fully-shielded and pointed down like the bottom half of this light. #ProtectNight #LightPollution #LowerCO2
It’s been exactly one year since we joined Twitter! Thank you for following us as we try to #ProtectNight for all life on Earth. #Ecological and #publichealth problems caused by artificial light at night are large but solutions are simple. #MyTwitterAnniversary

Look at these #Density promoting #Townhomes (behind the single family houses (SFH)). All light is shining completely down and horizontal spill is minimized. Thank you BallardTalta https://www.isolahomes.com/seattle-homes-for-sale/talta #ProtectNight
Proof of the ill effects of lighting up the night are all over the place and easily found. Bad design and installations abound. We need solutions and best practices. @IDADarkSky #ProtectNight nightlights.home.blog/2019/02/07/updates-to-th...
Notice on the left #pollinator and #insect friendly amber 1800K lighting and on the right harmful high Kelvin replacement. @woodlandparkzoo we would think you would know better. #ProtectNight and all species by using low Kelvin light at night.
#FindTheEcoLight Which one of the four is Planet-Friendly lighting that protects night time pollinators, trees, wildlife, and public-health? #ProtectNight
Yes, everyone is correct, number 3. This was an easy one. The light is recessed into the porch ceiling-you can’t see any direct light-this is your best hint that it is #FullShield and the better choice to light only what you need and #ProtectNight
