For me, there is much nostalgia tied up in the Mackintosh Quality Street and Cadbury Roses tins of yesteryear.
My mum and dad always had a huge tin of #QualityStreet in the house at Christmas, and my Nana would have an equally large tin of #Roses.
The colours and varieties were mesmerising to me.
THIS WAS 1981: One pound (kids, ask your parents) of Quality Street cost £1.49. Giant Toblerones were 99p if you were posh.

Just rubbish getting smaller every year and the wrappers are like wax sheets , I know for the environment but loses the special appeal

160g bag of Quality Street chocolates emptied onto a wooden table, bag laid on its side behind candy. There are 17 colourfully wrapped chocolates; all but four are a welcome sight. Three chocolates wrapped in blue at the upper left and one near the bottom of the image are the detestable coconut eclairs. I ate them in the time it took me to edit the picture and create this post, but I did not enjoy it. In fact, I have definite regrets. It was a necessary evil to clear them out. Now I have only good ones left! I have a stomach ache now. Four coconut éclairs are three too many at once!
I'm really quite disappointed to see that 4 out of 17 of these are coconut. 23.53% coconut is too much coconut. Only 11.76% or less is acceptable.
