A wide-angle, low-view photo of the Valley of the Fallen (Valle de los Caídos) complex near El Escorial, Spain. Dominating the scene is the colossal stone cross atop a massive, rocky hill. Below the hill, a long, grey administrative-style building with a slate roof is visible, framed by a semi-circular colonnade with archways. The foreground is a large, empty stone plaza. The sky is a dramatic deep blue with scattered white clouds, and dark green trees frame the left side of the scene.
