What is metformin? Metformin is a medicine used by tens of millions of people worldwide, mainly for type 2 diabetes. Lab results suggest metformin could also make cancer less likely to occur in people with Li Fraumeni syndrome, although currently this is only a theory. The MILI clinical trial has been set up to test this.
Metformin is a drug used mainly to treat diabetes.
Research suggests it may reduce the risk of cancer developing in people with Li Fraumeni syndrome.

People with Li Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) have mutations in a gene called TP53. Do you know the difference between P53 and TP53? We do use them interchangeably a lot. P53 refers to the protein that the gene TP53 makes.
