A landscape oriented image taken in late autumn. Running up the right hand side into the image is a canal towpath, it has an old stone wall to its right side. The canal is on its left but it’s barely visible because of foliage growing along its edge, this is a lovely mix of green and orange. To the far side of the canal and the other side of the stone wall are tree. In the distance on the towpath are two small figures, a man and a woman, in blue and red jackets respectively. Though small they are an essential part of the image I waited until they were a good way along the path to have them cocooned under the arc of the distance tree branches.

I spotted three dead birds, either ducks or geese on the riverbank this week. I am far from an expert but I’m guessing that the cause is the bird flu that has been prevalent as of late. I’ve been walking down here several times a week for some years and this is the first time I’ve seen any dead birds laying in the open. The one I photographed was just a couple feet from the path, the other two was on the shore, that is shown on the first photo.
