An unusual insect, the hummingbird moth. Smaller than a bird, larger than a bee, a tail like - a lobster? Shades of orange, tan and red with clear wings (this variety is actually called a Clearwing). The photo shows its antennae and curled nose that uncurls for pollen. It is approaching a fragrant white a yellow azalea in this photo.
A small green and white Ruby-Throated Hummingbird sitting on a clothesline. There are a few remaining drips from a rain on the line along with a few wooden clothespins.
Enjoying the challenges and themes for photos, it inspires me to revisit my library which grows with little purpose beyond learning and a gentle pastime. I can't always participate but like seeing the work of others. Hummingbird Moth, Hummingbird hanging out (to dry?)
