The Wheel Bug (ARILUS CRISTATUS), is a large assassin bug found from Canada to Central America. It is a prized garden resident with a voracious appetite, especially for caterpillars. It can inflict an extremely painful bite, considered worse than a wasp. #insects #wheelbug #assassinbug #arthropods

I then happened upon the largest Assassin Bug in North America, the North American Wheel Bug, #Arilus cristatus, VERY LARGE (2 inches +) very in charge, and with some gold leaf looking folded wings 😻
