Alan dried his hands on blue roll. “Sure, I can hear a leaky trap from another room.” He cleared away, through Jimmy’s protests. “You did me a favour, don’t clean up, I’ll do it.” “Can’t mate it’s just drilled into me. Have to clean up after mysen. Don’t want to leave a customer with that bad impression.” Alan let his weight shift backwards. “How are you doing?” Jimmy shuffled. “I’m fine Al, better now I know the plumbing’s all good.” He forced a laugh. “Jim mate, I could feel the tension last night. How are you doing?” Jim sighed. “You’re right, things are going bad.”

There’s an awareness campaign I’ve been a part of for years now. #AskTwice. Its the idea that when you ask if your mate is doing well, you actually ask twice. Most people will say yes out of habit. A second time is to get them to open up about their mental health. You could save a life.
