Fall is arriving to the #marsh in #coastalgeorgia. Unlike our friends north, our fall palette tends to be muted. This scene is further softened by a thick pillow of cloud cover.

The marsh is still mainly green. Varied clouds adorn a deep blue sky. A small single cloud is reflected in the high tide water.

I am experimenting with editing some of my digital images in an attempt to emulate the look of false-color infrared slide film. Kodak Aerochrome, and Ektachrome Infrared EIR films produced surreal landscape images with foliage appearing pink, or red, instead of the normal green color one would expect. These long discontinued film stocks are almost impossible to find these days, and they are incredibly expensive if they do turn up. Digital editing seems to be the most affordable way I can create Aerochrome type images like this one.

A photograph of the view from the Cherry Island Marsh Trail in Lake Erie Metropark near Gibraltar, Michigan USA on an overcast and gloomy day. The park is located in a coastal marsh at the mouth of the Detroit River where it flows into Lake Erie. There is an amazing variety of wildlife here, and it is a great place to watch waterfowl. It was a bonus that I finished my walk just before it started to rain.
