I take comfort in the coalescence of known and unknown, sights all too common but inhabited by the entirely unfamiliar. I wonder if my search ends here.

Before the rain, there came a sound. So vast and deep, of thirsty land and a low whisper of crackling flames.
I came from a place of water. Of deluge. Of flood. Of drowning, gasping, grasping.
I did not know the sound the ground makes when it cracks. Hungers.
I did not recognize the thirst.

My memory of you is now like a familiar hymn, heard behind the closed doors of a church. The joined voices of the choir slither down chords half-recalled. I slip away before the hearty chorus. #mpotd
Before you there were sunsets, blue Sky’s, bird song and starlight. Before you there were stories and quests, journeys and destinations. Before you there was not a gap in the world where you fitted perfectly. Now you’re here and we doubt that the world ever held marvels so bright before you.

The magician’s assistant couldn’t get the trick right. A rival magician promised to teach her. She wore heels as instructed & painted her nails black to match her shoes. He handed her a fur coat, one of his props. The assistant floated upwards. Finally, she put on the fur coat & disappeared. #mpotd

Bored in a lecture, she started drawing #stick men who came to life, leaping off the page and #embracing her with thanks. They were quite bony - all knees and elbows. It wasn’t until she realized they were hugging everyone they met that there was something not quite right with the stick men. #mpotd
