A male common redstart on the branch of a standing, partly mossy, deadwood branch of an old elder bush. The bird is in the background, facing the photographer and is calling, which can be recognized by the slightly open beak. It is spreading its brick-red tail feathers. All signs that the bird is excited. In the background you can see blurred foliage in various shades of green shimmering in the sunlight.
You can clearly see the bird's brick-red belly as well as the slate-grey-black breast and the black head with the whitish forehead stripe extending over the beak to the eyes.
Something was bothering Mr. Redstart. Maybe I was getting too close to the nest? That's the deal: I take a little souvenir picture and get off the terrace. The redstart chirps, duty calls ... - I see: back to the desk!
