I recently conquered the Trig Point found on Beinn na Bhreaghad, near the Fairy Pools on Skye. A great walk with stunning views of the cuillins and the last great clan battle on Skye.

Visited one of the most iconic landmarks on Skye recently - the Old Man of Storr!
Definitely one of the most rewarding hikes I've completed recently and well worth a visit.

This is a photo of the trig point at Foel Drygarn in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the fabulous view over the rolling Preseli Hills towards the coast. It was taken just before sunset on 9 April 2025. The setting sun looks like it is sitting on the trig point - just like a bright orange button. The sky is varying shades of peach and orange, turning to pale blue close to the horizon. There are lots of rocks surrounding the trig point in the foreground.
When the setting sun looks like a #burntorange button on top of a trig point for today's #Stunday and #AColoradAyPRIL.

This is a photo of the trig point at Foel Drygarn in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the breathtaking view over the rolling Preseli Hills towards the coast. It was taken just before sunset on 9 April 2025. The sun is setting directly above the trig point, casting a glow on the metal plate at the top. The sky is varying shades of peach and orange, turning to pale blue close to the horizon. There are lots of rocks surrounding the trig point in the foreground.
Today is the 89th anniversary of the first UK #trig point...and this is (probably!) my favourite of the 66 that are in #Pembrokeshire just before #sunset earlier this month 🧡

This walk actually took place near the end of last year. This time I found myself climbing Suidh' a' Mhinn "Seat of the Gentle" near Kilmuir on one of the last sunny days of the year.

IT is all good and fun, but a little balance is important. Today I took a stroll up to my latest Trig Point, Meall An Fhuarain can be found a little south of Portree on the Isle of Skye and provides some stunning vista's of the Cuillin Hills!

Henry keeping watching out for stray horses exiting the horse level at Flushiemere Mine
Henry thanking me for taking him to a trig point by locking/eating my face
Ears out at James Hill trig point
At Flushiemere Mine horse level
Henry does like trips to lead #mines and #trigpoints so Sunday was a great day for him as he took me to both in one walk in the #northpennines. He's a #gooddog
A very misty view with a trig point built of stones behind a pile of stones. A very damp ginger dog wearing a harness is to the right of the trig point and is looking at the camera.
Continuing to look at #LakeDistrict #TrigPoints here's the one at Clough Head on a very dreich day. Jessie's looking damp and grumpy.

A stone built trig point with a National Trust plaque attached sits on rocky ground to the left of the photo. In the near distance is a dry stone wall with a ladder stile over it. The sun's not out and there's a lot of cumulus in the sky but odd bits of blue.
Continuing on our #LakeDistrict #TrigPoints theme this is the one on Black Fell taken on a rather overcast day. Traditional stone construction and the National Trust have added a plaque naming the fell.

Foreground is a lot of biggish rocks 1-2 feet in size. In the background are lots of Lakeland fells with a cloudy sky overhead. A traditional Lake District trig point built of rock is among the rock field to the right of centre.
Continuing on our #LakeDistrict #TrigPoints theme this is the one on High Raise, with Glaramara beyond. You can also make out Honister Crag, Grey Knotts and Brandreth in the distance.

Trig point built of rocks with a notice on it warning it's an offence to damage it. The trig point also still has it's benchmark plate attached.
Yesterday's photo of the trig point on the Old Man of Coniston reminded me that we've got lots of photos of #TrigPoints so let's take a look at a few more starting with the one on Binsey. It's a classic #LakeDistrict stone built one, no concrete post here, and still with the benchmark plate attached
