I worry that when all the post-death work -sorting, notifications, paperwork, having a memorial service here around the end of March or early April- is done, that's when Hilde's absence will really hit hard. Building a new life without her will be... terrifying.

Caregiving for Hilde the last year meant no time to write much or critique other members' work, or much social life at all. Missed the monthly workshops. We'll see how I cope.

What is left of #Autumn. A Few leaves on this persimmon tree noticed on my #walk.

I find that exercise is a great way to combat #trauma, #grief, and #stress. My wife passed last year and #exercise has been a comfort for me. If you are a #widower hang in there, walk and exercise if you can. #healing

Suzanne Somers' Widower Sparks Debate After Revealing He's Created An AI Robot Clone Of Her Alan Hamel, the husband of the late actor Suzanne Somers—best knwon for her starring role on _Three's Company_ —has revealed he is working on an AI-generated version of his late wife, telling _People_ magazine that he is working on "a really interesting project, the Suzanne AI Twin." Somers died a day shy of her 77th birthday in October 2023 after a long battle with breast cancer. Somers was first diagnosed more than two decades ago and dealt with the disease largely in private. Her passing inspired an outpouring of grief from many old co-workers and longtime friends. The AI robot was modeled after Somers and trained on all 27 of her books, along with “hundreds of interviews” she gave throughout her career. **Hamel said he found the robot “perfect” after interacting with it at the conference:** > _"It was Suzanne. I asked her a few questions, and she answered them, and it blew me and everybody else away. When you look at the finished one next to the real Suzanne, you can't tell the difference.
