On a raft in a body of murky water are several alligators dog-piled on top of each other. There are possibly five visible, but could be more. There is a branch in the upper left that is in front of the raft so covers up a bit of the gator pile.

Is this a gator? It looks like one to me but I'm not sure as I've yet to see it basking. Last year around this time there were dozens of mottled ducks on this pond. Now they're nowhere to be found? Is that because they sense predators?
