A twig was obscuring this a bit but you can clearly see where the Hopper's dorsal spine has broken off and the stump has become discoloured #MacroAddicts #BugSky #AustralianInsects #AcaciaTwoHornedTreeHopper

It's been a couple of years since I have come across these native bees!
Cuckoo bees are brood parasites. They sneak into the nests of other bees, lay their eggs, and leave the unsuspecting host to raise their young.

If they can't get comfortable on the communal stem male Blue-banded bees will buzz over to the next free stalk and latch on for the night #BlueBandedBees #MacroAddicts #MacroPhotography #BugSky #MacroSky #Insects #AustralianInsects

Such a treat to find this one. They're solitary bugs, and other related species can be quite photo-shy #AustralianInsects #BugSky #MacroAddicts #Insects #Treehopper
