Stanion church has a tall tower and even taller spire. The nave is quite low, enhancing the effect. Viewed from across the churchyard, the tower is to the left ,the chancel to the right. The chancel has a tiled roof, the nave has 3 windows above the side aisle and is taller and has a shallower pitch, such that the roof isn't visible. Then the tower which has 3 visible stages and is topped by a broached spire. The whole is constructed of a cream stone of slightly variegated colour.
The sky is blue with about half coverage of puffy clouds, the grass is a lush green, but there are no shadows, there must be a cloud in front of the sun.
