A pair of Cavagnaros handmade wood and brushed steel salt and pepper shakers from the 1950s. They won a 'good design' award at the Museum of Modern Art in the 1950s, and were featured in American Craft magazine at the time.
Cavagnaro lived and worked in the Bay Area for most of his life, and was a painter, a graphic designer, jewelry designer and metalsmith, and sculptor. This is one of his production designs. There were less than 50 pairs made by Cavagnaro over the years. I've only seen four other pairs for sale in the last 20 years!
